1. Who we are

DEJ Gold & Silver is a family-run gold and silver buyer trading at Shop 5, 94-96 Grimshaw Street, Greensborough, Victoria 3088. We are registered as a second-hand dealer with Consumer Affairs Victoria. Our registration number and ABN are shown on every page and linked to the public register.

2. Selling your items to us

When you sell to us, you confirm that you own the items, that you are entitled to sell them, and that they are free of any loan, lien, or claim by anyone else. You confirm you are 18 or over.

We weigh each piece on a certified scale and test it to confirm its purity before we make an offer. The offer is worked out from the weight, the tested purity, and the live per-gram rate for that metal and carat. There are no deductions you have not been shown.

Any offer we make is for that visit only. It can change with the spot price, which moves through the day. You are under no obligation to accept, and there is no charge for a quote.

3. Proof of identity

We are required by law to record valid photo identification for every person who sells second-hand goods to us in Victoria. You will need to bring a current driver licence or passport. We cannot complete a purchase without it. How we handle that information is set out in our privacy policy.

4. Payment

Once you accept an offer, we pay on the spot by cash or PayID bank transfer, whichever you prefer. The sale is final once payment is made and the items are handed over. We may hold certain items for a short period where the law requires it before they are processed.

5. Loans against gold

We offer short-term loans secured against gold you own. The full terms, the rate, the repayment date, and what happens if a loan is not repaid are written down and explained before you sign anything. Your gold is held insured on the premises for the term of the loan and returned to you in full when the loan is repaid.

6. Pricing on this site

The per-gram prices shown on this site track the live spot price and are indicative. They are a guide, not a binding quote. The figure that applies to your items is the one we calculate in store, from the weight and tested purity in front of you. If our price feed is unavailable, the site says so rather than showing a stale number as if it were live.

7. Your rights as a consumer

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or any other right that cannot be excluded by law. Where those rights apply, they sit alongside these terms.

8. Liability

To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim connected with a transaction is limited to the amount paid or payable for the items in that transaction. We are not liable for loss that we could not reasonably have foreseen.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page at the time of your visit is the one that applies. The last reviewed date is shown at the top.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and the courts of Victoria have jurisdiction over any dispute.
